Fake movies on IMDb
I see them occasionally. The cast are often fakes too.
Today I found three, with dozens of fake people and reviews, all by same same person:

hmm , You'd think imdb would have something in place to stop just anyone adding movies,
or all the film students would be putting their homework on
They have. You need some proof to add a short of a movie, like a newspaper talking about it, or having been in a festival.
Another option is that the movie is added by somebody who is allowed to do so. From what a guy I know told me (he made a short and tried to add it), if you have a career in movies you're likely allowed to add them in iMDB.
