All fine movies

Have you seen all of his? I think I've seen 20 of his movies.. Don't think I saw any of his movies from the 40s, and couldn't get into "Fanny and Alexander".. I also didn't see that movie with Elliot Gould, which everyone says was pretty bad.

reply

I've seen 18 of his films so far. I plan on seeing more of his films.

wild strawberries - that's my personal fav, by far
fanny & alexander
the seventh seal
winter light
the virgin spring

i actually don't think i've seen many past that five, though. i liked persona, but i always feel like i kinda bounce off of it rather than really grokking what's going on. i almost watched scenes from a marriage recently, but criminy that running time puts me off. at least with fanny & alexander, you can kinda break it out into discrete patches, matching to the original mini-series.

Casablanca
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The Bells of Saint Mary's
Notorious

reply

Wrong Bergman.

reply

Lol, I always mix those two up in my head because the names are so similar and I'm only vaguely familiar with both of them.

reply

They did work together right before she died in "Autumn Sonata" - one of his best!

reply

for sure Wild Strawberries on the top.

and then i think:

Persona
The Seventh Seal
The Virgin Spring
Scenes From a Marriage
