Why does every moderator pretend to be impartial?

Even Google insists they aren't biased against conservatives. Are you joking? Every time an internal memo is leaked, they just keep insisting even louder. Gab's new browser extension called Dissenter was talked about a lot here. If you don't know what it is, it's a pseudo comment section for every website on the internet. Google banned it from their app store. Even Firefox banned it. What are they so afraid of? Every time there's a new outlet for freedom, conservatives flock to it. Not liberals. Doesn't that tell you something? That corporate censorship has a very focused agenda? Who are we kidding? Just look at the explicit terms of service here. No hate speech. Nothing about whether something is true or not. New York Times said Iraq had WMDs. Infowars said Iraq didn't have WMDs. That's the biggest hoax of our time. Guess who is welcome in polite society. Did you know Robert Muller was one of the people behind it? Apparently it's love-speech if you support killing the right people. That's what moderators don't get. Moderators, from hall monitors on up, tend to not be very thoughtful people. Police actually have to fail IQ tests in some jurisdictions, because dumb people are better at following orders. The system works.

For the rest of us, we need to oppose moderators just on principle, on the fact that moderation is inherently biased, against free speech. Which side has something to hide? Hint: It's the side that is automatically wrong. I don't think conservatives can ever win by pressing the report button as much as liberals do. We just don't control any of the levers of power. Big business, media, academia... They'll always have platforms. We have to hold on to what we have left. But we're a scrappy bunch. Maybe we have to resist our instinct to be strong and silent. Let your friends know you're being censored. Let them know when one of your favorite authors gets deplatformed. Most liberals are not the scheming two-faces you see on political forums. They're just regular people who want to be seen as moral and not "racist". They don't even realize all this censorship is going on. Ask them how Youtube makes more money by having less content if they try to say anything about "private companies" and "free speech is only for the government". A lot of liberals are distrustful of big corporations deep down, if we can bring that out again. Moderators have repressed it. Everyone is worried about toothless hicks in white sheets and Russian script kiddies. Not trillion dollar corporations.

If you do this you will be banned. MovieChat is a moderated site which you knew when you signed up, and agreed to abide by our rules. If you don't like that, don't post here or on any other moderated site.

Don’t feed it!

This happens to left-wingers, but there aren't any in the US - at least not enough to count as a minority.

Those trillion dollar corporations ban anything that is anti-war, NEWBIE..,,,, Welcome to the boards!

I really don't know where you are coming from or going to. Some of this is a fight we small people can't win. Or at least, it will take a long time and a lot of strategy. But people posting within tasteful boundaries I feel is a good thing, and if they get swatted for going beyond those bounds, I don't have a problem with it. And I see a lot of crap that gets by Mods around here all the time, so I don't understand what you expect. Other than "on principle" argument. Like being a Libertarian, if you truly feel any censorship is too much censorship, okay. But when no one appreciates your viewpoint, and in fact loathes it, that's when you get Moderated. Everyone else's mileage may vary.

Dear cntrptn/Ethan/Luxury

Do you know what is sad about all this back and forth? I’m a Conservative. I wish I didn’t have to register Republican because I cannot tolerate the elitism of the Republican party. I have to register in order to vote in the primaries. We don’t have open primaries. I voted for Pres. Trump and will do so again.

Back to my opening sentence. You have made some good points, but you are turning away people by the way you are reacting. Why are you attacking the Moderators? It’s not a good way to make friends and to get people to understand you. They are turning a deaf ear to you. As soon as you use the moniker libtard or libturd you’ve lost them. Also, this board is not the board to vent your frustrations over liberalism. There are boards where you can vent to your heart’s content. Sure, we’ve had discussions about politics and Pres. Trump, but that’s just what they were...discussions.

You write many of the things my husband and I say in the privacy of our home. But, I leave it here. I enjoy my cyber pals here on MC which is my escape from the blasted news. I’m fully aware there are those who consider me a racist, there’s that word again, because I voted for Trump. We dare not wear a MAGA hat. My husband wore one daily until I stopped him from wearing it. Why? Because he’s elderly and uses a cane. I’m sure most have seen the video where the anti-Trump guy knocked down an elderly man, threw the man’s bike to the side, and told the elderly man “You better stay down old man if you know what’s good for you!” For the first time in my life I’m fearful in saying who I support. I thought it was bad when it was Bush vs Clinton. I had a Bush bumper sticker on my car. Someone kicked in the trunk lid (boot for you Brits😉) of my new car. Never again a bumper sticker.

You need to stop the verbal attacks and for the greater good lay off The Mod Squad! I don’t understand why you think they are the enemy. They don’t suppress our speech here on MC.
