Your three favorite Bruce Springsteen songs
My Hometown
Brilliant Disguise
Born to Run
I like Bruce's monologues during the live shows. Never have seen him myself, but the old classic triple live album is a lot of fun. I edited it to include the spoken parts and the songs I was less familiar with. I think The River captures this perfectly.
Ironically, with Born To Run Springsteen seemed a little too serious to me at times. I still like him, but the fun that permeated his first two records seemed to have been displaced with brooding. Not entirely, and I like that he can be serious, but the ratio seems weighted toward brooding. Nebraska is not a project that invited joy, but Darkness and BTR could have used a bit more liveliness to them, Freeze Out being an exception. Some of the radio friendly cuts, like Glory Days, were a little over exposed.
