For Memorial Day Dedicate A Poppy To A Veteran Living Or Deceased

I dedicate a poppy, a memoriam, a wreath, or a flag, etc. every year to my first cousin who came back in pieces from Viet Nam. Also to a neighbor’s son who didn’t return alive from Viet Nam.

May God Bless all our vets...past, present and future. Also to our first responders: Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Paramedics, etc.

Here’s the info:

Excellent advice
We owe a tremendous debt to the men and women who served

Well said and Amen! I can't really add anything to that.

I thought the poppy was a British tradition. We wear poppies every November 11 here in Canada.

Thank you Canada and all of our Allies!
American, British, Scottish as per the following article from 2015. Poor kid in Scotland lost his job for wearing one. It’s no wonder our youth don’t understand what it cost to have the freedoms they have in our allied countries! Do you know the turning point of WWII in our favor, D-Day, June 6, 1944, is not listed on most (if any) calendars? Several years ago I called the publisher of the calendar I receive every year and complained. The customer service rep was shocked over the omission when I brought it to her attention. Nothing changed!

I was in error when I wrote in my OP the dedication of a poppy should be for the living also. But, when you think about it, so many are suffering from PTDS, or have unseen injuries from IEDS and not receiving the care needed from the VA....they are half dead! So many are committing suicide daily. Our vets should receive anything needed to make life more bearable.

The Dems should start caring more for the plight of American citizens including our vets than they do for the illegals! It infuriates me when they rant about the separation of illegal kids from their illegal parents. Instead of funds going to those storming and overwhelming our borders, our injured vets should be first on the list. If they need a house...build it, if they need a special all terrain wheel chair...give it to them, if they need the best in medical care...give it to them, if they need the best in prosthetics....give them, if they need mental care...give them the best, etc., etc.! This is the subject I shout from my soapbox!

Dems? Lets not forget the President who prefers soldiers who didn't get caught!

Oh and the funds spent keeping kids in cages, the funds trying to be put toward a wall... so many billions... all the money from the huge tax break....

Inqgine what vets could do with all that sheer excess!
