Do you think it’s bad
To sleep in your basement? My mom and brother didn’t like me doing that for some reason.

Assuming you are not typing out a Unabomber manifesto and mixing dangerous chemicals they should mind their beeswax...who cares what you're up to, right?
shareIf it's a finished basement with a bedroom and bathroom (at minimum) that's fine. If it's an unfinished basement, and you're sleeping on a mattress and have to come upstairs to use the restroom, that means a lot of things, many not good.
shareMy basement was in between. It had a bathroom, but it was just cheap wood and the 2x4s exposed on the inside. Not a shower, just somewhere to dump and wash your hands. I thought it was pretty o-k at the time.
But the basement as a whole wasn't finished much and I think it got moldy with time. We weren't allergic to mold but I had a party when my folks were away and one of the good-looking guys who was a great swimmer had an asthma attack, and I think it was because our basement was too damp for too long.
