Great One off Performances

This Topic Just came to me after seen some of the choices that were picked in "Coming of Age" films thread. That a lot of the actors or actresses in those films only had one off roles and not making a mark since. The Choices can be someone still having acting career but hasn't reach the heights of that one off performance.

Lina Leandersson (Let The Right One In 2008)- Kare Hedebrant as Oskar was great, but the film for me belonged to Lina as vampire Eli. She was only 11 when she did the role, but pulled out a performance way beyond her years. Since then she did two little seen Swedish films a few years after in 2013, but since then she seems to have quit acting as has Hedebrant.

Keisha Castle Hughes (Whale Rider 2002)- A little film from New Zealand went on to be a sleeper hit. Thanks to then 12 year old Castle Hughes. She's the main reason to watch it. The film got Oscar nods, she became a star overnight. She had a few setbacks in life, but she's still acting to this day and had a part in Games of thrones.

Alexandra Dahlstorm/Rebecka Liljeberg (Fucking Amal aka Show Me Love 1998) You could name most of Lukas Moodysson's film's young stars on this list, as most seem to fade away after great roles. But Dahlstorm (14 at the time) and Liljeberg (17 at the time) are the two I thought could have gone on to great film careers, especially Liljeberg. They scooped a few best acting awards for their performances. Dalhstorm acts here and there but Liljeberg is now a doctor and mother of 3 children.

Katie Jarvis (Fish Tank 2009) at 18 she held her own with Michael Fassbender, and got a ton of praise. Well deserved as she's excellent in the film. But it just didnt happen for her, I think she became a mother not that long after and still acts and was recently on British soap Eastenders and did some straight to DVD work. But hopefully she can find a role as good as Fish Tank down the road.

Peter Ostrum turned down a lucrative 3 film deal from MGM studios where he would have been the lead actor. His star forever shines in 'The Chocolate Factory' because of it.

That woman from Voyager who played Kes, she also suffered from mental illness at some point, although maybe drugs were involved? They kind of go hand-in-hand. Then there's Denise Crosby from TNG. Strange that she got the gig and was dropped early on. But then, most of the Star Trek alumni were one-trickers.
