i love this site butttt

damn we need more traffic

ive posted on a few forums and no one has replied

some forums are just dead

im not bashing anyone here. i LOVE THIS SITE and hope it stays. Its so much easier to use than IMDB2

Anyway im not begging for people to reply to me but i hope we can all be a bit more active (of course i could just not be looking at the right movies/shows)

reply

Yeah I was just saying the same thing on The Walking Dead board lol. That was probably one of the most active boards on IMDb and its completely dead there currently. I love this site but like you said it needs so much more traffic.

Another thing I want to know is that how do we know that this site is going to last? I always worry one day Im going to go to this site and its going to say "Page unavailable". If that happens then what? I know a lot of people say that it won't ever happen but I've heard that so many times from other sites and poof they were gone. So how do we know this won't one day have the same fate? Im not trying to jinx it or anything. I just want assurances that this won't happen. Is there a backup plan if things go south here?

Hang on. Your wish may be granted sooner rather than later. The writing is on the Amazon walls… and the crayon suggests, redrum for their forums. I should imagine many of the Amazon movie forum members will be seeking new lodgings soon.

Give it time, jason. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Well.. Guthrie, Oklahoma was supposedly built in a day. Not that I undermine your point though. I'm just feel like being dickish today.

While that does sound impressive kamen, Guthrie Oklahoma is not quite Rome.

Now if you will excuse me, I feel the need, the need for speed! No wait, wrong movie. I feel the need to burst into song:

Oooooooooooooklahoma where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat sure smells sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain!

etc.

I'm also starting to lose hope for this site. It seemed good at first but now not many new people are joining and many good early members are giving up. People keep saying give it more time but it's been about 4 months now. I find Reddit and Youtube are much better places to discuss movies and tv now.

Reddit and Youtube are old, well known sites, as famous as IMDb. When IMDb forums disappeared, those sites didn't have to advertise their existence or try to draw in new members. They didn't have to lift a finger, people went there by themselves because everyone knew they existed.

This and similar IMDb replacement sites are for people who prefer a movie to have its own board. That's what we're used to. I like it this way. Reddit is confusing to me.

Activity here is good for new movies and series. Older movies are the problem. If a person wants to debate only about one particular older movie or series and nothing else, it could be a problem to find a debate partner, that's true. Well, c'est la vie. I once received a response for a post on an older movie board on IMDb 2 years later. Sometimes nobody responded, ever. I think we might be slightly idealizing the activity that went on IMDb while it lasted. You know, "good old times" and stuff like that. Half of the posts were troll posts and I don't miss those at all.

Give it time,,, this place will grow.. In the meanwhile I have watched all of Wentworth (Australian prison series) and all of Southern Charm (trash tv , yes I know, lol) so if you want to comment on those boards, feel free.
