The IMDb is now a shell of what it used to be

I visited there yesterday...it's really quite a dull site now...

reply

It's only good if you want to look up trivia, any other movie details, and if you have to list credits.

reply

Except for moviechat.org users harping on about it. 3 topics alone on this page about imdb.

reply

But it's true.

reply

Oh I'm not arguing, just saying that by carrying on and on and ON about imdb keeps it relevant. What we SHOULD do is just carry on here, and let imdb have their little information site without the ruffians they tried getting rid of giving them more publicity by keeping thei name alive. ;)

reply

Well I only mentioned it because I haven't been there since February...

reply

Never mind. I see the concept of what I'm trying to say isn't going too far here. No worries, carry on!

reply

IMDb is that ex we all cannot stop thinking about. We can try to be in denial; however, it is still with us and will be.

reply

That's EXACTLY the comparison I typed out but then deleted. The jilted lover scenario.

Well. I guess my pride is bigger problem than most. lol

reply

I would have no idea what that would feel like. I have never had an ex. -_-

reply

You don't have to. You only need a friend who won't shut up about his/hers. XD

reply

Oh, I have had that friend.

reply

Oh god, me too.

reply

Lol! Pretty much! But sometime you need at least a certain period of time to bitch and moan and hate that ex in order to get it out of your system.

It can seem mal-lingering but it's often a clearing process, and later you move on to truly not even thinking about them anymore. It will take a while for a lot of us to get to that place, but in the meantime it kind of feels good to say "That asshole is nothing without me, I noticed when I saw him/her yesterday, muahahahahah!" [laugh]

reply

Peanut Butter Ben & Jerry's does the trick.

I had no idea mal-lingering was a word. O_o

reply

It's a word but I've probably spelled it wrong, haha! I think there's probably no dash; oops.

And yeah, a pint of Ben & Jerry's puts a lot of wrongs right, hahah!

reply

Yeah IMDb lost its soul.

reply

Well said Apis.

reply

IMDb is the next Myspace. It'll soon be forgotten, and people will move onto something else.

reply

Yep, and the sad thing is, while Myspace died a natural death, with IMDb Colin Needham cut its throat himself.

I still just can't wrap my mind around what happened there. It was so monumentally stupid. The site is a useless ghost town now. I still go there to rate movies, occasionally look at a cast list, but that's it. I go there for two minutes and i'm done. There's nothing to do there now. I don't think i'll ever understand what was going through the heads of the people who did this. They killed a great thing, they ruined their own site. It's such a.... waste.

I know i'm preaching to the choir here and i'm not saying anything new, but I just felt the need to vent about that. I still miss those boards.

reply

I agree, they ruined their own site. And that's what happens when trolling is allowed to go unchecked for so long that it becomes a "burn the place down" kind of scenario. I'm starting to not miss those boards too much as the individual page boards here pick up speed every now and then.
