Ken Loach fans?

I don't think he can make a bad movie...

reply

He's a favourite in the Royal Family.

Mmmm. I've never seen one of his films. As a matter of fact, I had never heard of him until just now.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley was a great movie. I disliked "Land and Freedom", though, which I felt was an awful distortion of the history of the Spanish Civil War.

Those are the only two of his movies I've seen so far.

reply

Nope. Didn't see either one of those.

I checked on IMDb, and I've just added The Wind That Shakes The Barley to my Netflix list.

I've seen almost all of his movies, but I didn't see that. I guess I'm not into "period pieces"

Update: I tried to add it, but it's not available on Netflix.

Riff-Raff is a good one. I liked the fairly recent, "I, Daniel Blake" which is the only movie I've seen that critiques modernity. It centers around a man who needs to find a new job after having a heart-attack, and he doesn't know about computers, and sees the dehumanization of society.

Love Ken Loach. My favourites are Family Life, My Name is Joe and I, Daniel Blake

I've only seen: "Kes", "Sorry We Missed You" and "I, Daniel Blake". I liked them all.
