Should start a MC rating system

What is an "MC rating system"?
😎
The IMDB rating system is, in theory, by people who visit IMDB. However, since the has gotten so big, more than just users give ratings. Studios, particularly for big movies, will send out thousands of paid schills to inflate ratings. Bands of trolls, that control botnets, will use those botnets to inflate the ratings for shows they like and sink the ratings for shows they don't. So the rating you see over there isn't necessarily reflective of what the actual viewers think.
Now, MovieChat is currently too small to attract such attention, so we would know the ratings were by actual unpaid people who had actually seen the movie. A "pure" rating, if you will.
I wasn't aware that it had gotten so bad on the IMDb ratings. Is it the same for Rotten Tomatoes? I usually take online reviews with a grain of salt anyway, since everyone has different tastes in movies.
I think a MovieChat rating system would be interesting, though.
Oh a Movie Chat rating system. Thanks.

If so, Jim should make it to where we cannot see the rating of the movie, before we actually put a rate down on it. Where IMDb went wrong is, say you see a movie rated 8 out of 10. Psychologically, you would probably rate it close to that, unless you really hated it. On this site, it should be that you can rate it; but can only see the actual average rating AFTER you have put yours down.
shareThat is a good idea in theory, but what about people who haven't seen the movie yet and want to know others' opinions before watching it?
shareThen they can go on IMDb or some other site to view the skewed rating. In order to keep this site accurate, the ratings should not be inflated. Problem solved :)
We want this site to be better than IMDb right?
