Spoilers

How do you put spoilers here on MovieChat?

As of yet, there is no way except for saying "Spoilers!" in the title, or doing the same in your post and then adding a lot of spaces so others don't see, and then writing your posts that contain spoilers.

I'm sure eventually Jim, the site owner, will get around to adding the ability to put in spoiler codes in our posts, as well as italics, emoticons, and so on. He's already put in a lot of time on this site, and has to prioritize. As I understand it, PMs will be next, and I agree they are the next most important upgrade on this site. The rest I can wait on and be patient.

Nope you can do it. I just don't know how.

Go to the movie U Turn (1997). Click on the top post "You killed him!! Scroll down 5 posts.

I haven't checked that forum, but assume it's an old IMDB forum post, where the markup has been replicated here in the old posts -- including the emoticons, and spoilers.

None of the markup in the old IMDB posts (spoilers, nesting, etc) was here until the last import of the most current IMDB archives.

I'm sure Jim will eventually allow us to do the same, but as of now, we can't.

The imported posts from the old IMDb still have the black bars for spoilers, but there isn't a way to do that in new posts made directly on moviechat.

Just type the word Spoilers in the title of your post. Problem solved. Next.
