Maybe SHADOW OF A DOUBT (1943) or BOUND (1996). For many years I thought TOOTSIE (1982) was a fairly perfect film, with an adorable and really bouncy story, polished production design and utterly superb performances. For some reason I haven't been drawn to rewatch it in years, however.

There are many perfect films... The Game (1997) is one of them.

That movie had me on the edge of my seat. For real real.

Metropolis (1927).

That's a cool movie. I was shocked that it was made in 1927.

@interlepos re << many perfect films... The Game (1997) is one of them. >> i do love that movie (not the least because Mr. Fincher threw the legendary Carroll Baker a bone via a small role) but the one problem i have with it is....well, i will post more when we have that spoiler masking feature.

It's tough, but I'd probably still choose "A Few Good Men" by just a hair over "On Borrowed Time" and "Kingdom of Heaven"!
