CNN Exclusive: ‘We control them all’: Donald Trump Jr. texted Meadows ideas for overturning 2020 election before it was

In the text, which has not been previously reported, Donald Trump Jr. lays out ideas for keeping his father in power by subverting the Electoral College process, according to the message reviewed by CNN. The text is among records obtained by the House select committee investigating January 6, 2021.

“It’s very simple,” Trump Jr. texted to Meadows on November 5, adding later in the same missive: “We have multiple paths We control them all.”

Funny thing. Democrats, who keep losing elections where they get more votes, want to get rid of the Electoral College and Republicans, who keep winning elections where they get less votes, want to keep it.

The Electoral College is certainly the weirdest part of American democracy; a confusing system with a troubled history and an ugly past.

A poll from 2019 revealed 60% of Democratic voters wanted to abolish the Electoral College—and just 21% want to keep it.

Just last year, Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said, “We need to abolish the Electoral College,” and followed that up by introducing legislation, S.J. Res. 17, to do just that.

Democrat-controlled state legislatures around the country are pursuing yet another path, the National Popular Vote Compact. Their goal is to effectively abolish the Electoral College by having states bind their Electoral College votes to the candidate who wins the national popular vote, not the candidate who won the state.

I certainly don't want to abolish it, I enjoy having 50x the voting power of a Californian!

"The Electoral College is certainly the weirdest part of American democracy..."
American democracy?? You are revealing your ignorance. There is no "American democracy". In fact, the founders were very cautious and worked to make sure that America was NOT a Democracy. The only members of the federal government who were elected via a democratic vote were the members of the House. The founding fathers were very aware of the "tyrrany of the majority". That is why they worked so hard to keep it out of our government.
