Ever watch a movie at the Drive-in?

Sure brings brings back great memories thinking about going to the drive-ins. First my parents taking us and some friends. Then when I got my drivers license taking my girlfriend. Getting a Designated driver and the rest of us drinking beer at the drive-in. Sometimes we would take blankets and/or lawn chairs and sit under the stars watching the movies. Great fun! I have a neat web site about drive-ins and it lists every drive-in still open in every state. If I can find it I will post the link here.

Yes, but not recently. They're all gone now.

They're all gone now.

Don't be so sure. Click on your state.

Wow! I clicked on my state, Ohio, and discovered we have 24, making it the third largest state for remaining drive-ins.
There's even one near me. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up, Sandman.

Let's go out to the lobby,
Let's go out to the lobby,
Let's go out to the lobby,
And get ourselves a snack!

You are welcome. I have two within a 30 minute drive. Hope to go a few times this summer. I am sure it will bring back some great memories. When I was a kid we would do this in the back of my dads old pickup truck.

When he sold his truck and got a car sometimes we would take blankets and or lawn chairs. Sitting under the stars watching a movie. Great, great memories!

That sounds great. I think I will do the same at the one in my area. You're right, it will bring back some great memories. Thanks again!

In Dearborn Heights, MI, there was a drive-in called the Jolly Roger. While our family must have gone there at least a few times, (I recall really looking forward to going there as little kid),the only time I remember vividly was being there once with my family, and my sister and I thought we were going to see a Sonny & Cher movie after the main feature, Four For Texas. By the time FFT (not a very good film, it seems) was over, S&C started and suddenly Dad decided he was tired and it was time to go home. What a rip!
