It is a Star Wars Rip off from top to bottom.
It is just a terrible movie that I love. I just re-watched it a week ago and it is a mess. The whole movie takes place over the course of a single day, hell not even a day. It takes place between breakfast and dinner. Except the movie has parts that the movie thinks take place over weeks. It is a bizarre mess of a movie.
Battle Star Gallactica was a disaster. It so hyped and they were spending something like 1 mill a week on the show. Which for that time was insane.
And the show was such a boring mess.

I could that same thing around the third of fourth episode and I had a real hard time believing it. Mark Vicente was a scumbag ring leader of this cult who at best enable Keith Raniere's criminal activity and at worst executed a lot of it.
I am curious if the nature of the deal that Vincente made with the feds will ever come out.
Nope.. I found it laughably bad when I first saw it and it only gets worse on repeat viewings. The sequel only cemented my feelings.
Scott is a bizarre clumsy film maker. He has latched on to droids as his primary dramatic tools in this shit show, the shit show of a follow on (Covenant) and the equally moronic Raised By Wolves.
It is going to be dog shit.. Just like all the Godzilla movies of the last 20+ years have been.
Her star is rising now because of His Dark Materials.
I wouldn't say it sucks but it sure wasn't that good.
