He's not a racist otherwise he wouldn't have had sex with a black woman. Ford had something of a recognizable prescence when he was younger, but his charisma has gradually diminished over the years. In the last Indiana Jones movie he still somewhat had it, but when he played Han Solo again he was a shadow of his former self Some of us will her truly miss her. I can understand why she is leaving though. Just too many haters in addition to on set injuries How many people have died trying to emulate something they see in the movies? Say someone watches Rambo and becomes a Green Beret then gets killed. Someone tries to be Indiana Jones and heads to some dangerous locations looking for artifacts, or a streetfighting superhero looking to beat up gangsters, or maybe some guy on Jackass doing dangerous stunts. Agreed! I hated his attitude in the beginning so much I wanted to reach through the screen and slap his ungrateful face. Although over the course of the film his complicated relationship with his parents is gradually fleshed out. As the movie went on not only did I find myself feeling somewhat sorry for him, but I started liking him more to I wonder what urged him to share this information with the world? To be honest it makes him sound douchey. Anyway he's probably going to live to be a very old man. Say he lives another 40 years. By that time his kids should have made enough money on their own to the point where they won't need his money. I'm of the opinion that you should hook your kids up when they need it the most like right after they graduate or move out. I wish my wealthy parents did that for me. Eventually I did become successful, but it would have been nice not to have struggled so much. lol that's funny! Yes Troy was a grade A douchebag, but he was a great character though, and he adds just a bit more sparkle to this gem of a film. I just watched this earlier, and it amazes me how the dude was barely in it, but he leaves such a lasting impression. Personally I think they could have used another scene in the intro explaining more of the beef between him and Brand. Before we see Brand at home lifting weights, we should have seen him out somewhere getting in an argument with Troy or something of that nature. A scene like that could have fleshed out their rivalry more, and we would have gotten a better understanding of why Troy did what he did, which is basically try to kill the poor son of a bitch. Maybe instead of Troy getting his ass kicked or going to jail he should have somehow been forced to going on the adventure to. During the course of the journey he evovles from a despicable asshole to a redeemable soul. Too late now obviously. The Troy character accomplished what he was intended for, and that was to basically make us hate his guts, and also leave a lasting impression on us. What happened to Troy in this movie was probably only the beginning of his downfall. Guys like Troy just get worse after high school. Somewhere down the line he will probably end up in jail for rape, assault, or something else. At the end of the movie the stage is all set for his true descent into deliquency, especially after his family is publicly humiliated
