Listening to Aerosmith. I've read only one book I know of turned into a movie "the beach". I actually preferred the movie version. There were differences. Some said the movie didn't do the book justice. Bon Jovi among many others. I watched it I think close 75% of the way through. But was feeling rather disinterested after about 15 minutes of watching it. But I kept on watching hoping it would get better. Cabin in the woods And that horror movie flick starring the now former pro wrestler Kane. I think it was called "See no evil". That's true, as I've been there. The only good part of the movie we watched was seeing a womans beautiful bare naked bottom lol. The rest sucked bigtime! Well, it bothered me in a way to do so. But I absolutely couldn't bring myself to on those two occasions. I figured I've been so disappointed up til now that the movie even if it did somehow get better couldn't redeem itself with me lol. In 2002, I really enjoyed Malaysia, Thailand and Bali. Of those three I think my favorite was Thailand. More recently in 2018, I loved Greece. I should have stayed for longer in Greece than I did. Awwww come on, it was funny! If your going to be killed and butchered, might as well spank the monkey lol. Maybe he was hopeful thinking that if some of the female cannibals seen him and if he was well endowed, they would want to veto killing, butchering and eating him just to get some action from a big sausage. I honestly don't get it. At least not from the start of the film on. Richard seemed rather ordinary to me. However as the movie progressed, he told some lies. But frankly I don't think many would have done it any differently than him. I mean, so he left a copy of the map and later on lies in saying that he hadn't on two separate occasions. Here's to assuming that he lied because he was scared to tell the truth. And probably with good reason as it nearly cost him his life when the truth was revealed. Then he lied to Francois, but why shouldn't he have? She was deceitful as well in how she had cheated on Etienne with Richard. The one thing Richard did in the film that I didn't like and couldn't make sense of, was when he hissed at the woman who then got shot and killed. I visited Thailand in 2002 and agree with you. Imo, this is how life should be an unpredictable adventure of discovery. And it's when people take a plunge like this and step out of their comfort zone that the possibilities can be unique and enlightening. I think many who say they hate this show just can't relate probably because they're so use to life being a predictable, boring grind. I think they're actually sort of jealous of the notion that others have managed to escape this grind of monotony. You have absolutely no sense of humor. I don't remember that part and I've watched this movie probably 100 times. Can you describe it more to me so I could possibly know better what part of the movie it is? Your just reading into it too deeply and wrong. The film's most annoying characters were Daphy, Bugs and Sammy and Zeph. Why not just accept the film for how it was done even if it was rather different from the book. Most movies can't correlate perfectly with the book as it would make the movie too long. I think the movie made perfect sense and it even had Leo commentating it, so how could it be so tough to follow and understand? Summed up briefly; some people (Sal and Daphy presumably) had, had enough of our modern society. They wanted something better. Something beautiful and secret where they and possibly a few others could live happily ever after. They found the beach and set up a colony on the island. But Daphy eventually defected and couldn't keep his mouth shut and told Richard and gave him the map. And Richard passed on the map. So others began showing up and they're idealic utopia crumbled after the farmers realized the island couldn't remain a secret for long with the beach colony living there and shoed them away. I wondered that also. That's what's so cool about movies like this is there's so much left to ponder afterwards. If many or all of them had expired visas as you mentioned, were left to more less assume that their respective consulates would have somehow assisted them. She wanted to lash out at Richard. And it's left to our imaginations, but it's entirely possible if Richard and Sal did the raw dog in Koh Phan Jang that he could have Impregnated Sal. And being the one who was so against returning to society from they're ideal utopia, was possibly against going the abortion route. So if that were the case she would have to explain it somehow unless she was up for trying to lie about it and try to say it wasn't Richards baby, but someone else's perhaps Bugs. Your right! It was a very good film. People are just hypercritical on certain things. Possibly because they heard negative speculation on the filming and how apparently the beachscape was altered in ways and so on. But people will often read overzealously into concepts in all sorts of ways. I heard people say "it was a drug movie", and someone else say that it was all about drugs and killing. And they proceeded to say after that therefore it wasn't real any different from many other films. That's ridiculous! So many characters in the movie smoked pot, whoopy due. So do lots of people in our everyday society the world over. The movie was all about travel and adventure, and the many possibilities there are for those who aren't afraid to take certain risks. Why should he? After all, Francois had cheated on Etienne with him. So what goes around comes around. I'm pretty sure they did the raw dog lol. I think Sal was impregnated by Richard which is possibly all the more reason why she went and blabbed her mouth off about they're raunchfest. Since Sal was all about secrecy of they're community and not returning back to society, she had to tell as it would have become known eventually that she was pregnant. Just hypothetically speaking.
