That would be an awesome cast! Sydney Sweeney would be hot in the role, but I’m sure Hollywood would go for someone more ethnically diverse like Zendaya.
Just watched the movie and totally agree. This movie seems to be made for college students who have never seen nakedness/weird sex before and pretends like there haven't been countless movies before that have been just as or even more graphic in their depictions of sex, particularly homosexuality.
There are plenty of millennials who grew up watching Beetlejuice on VHS, DVD, and cable who definitely would be excited to see this film too

It seemed like they were trying to rebuild interest in the series in the late 2010s when JJ Abrams remastered the first film, which would lead one to speculate that there would have been some kind of reboot or legacy sequel.
This movie actually is one of those where its low-budget production actually makes it more effective and interesting. The cinematography feels almost like a 1970s magazine come to life and gives it an otherworldly feel but yet at the same time feels oddly like a real-life documentary making the film all the more frightening.
Perhaps Ziegler is the Senior Warden or Junior Warden of whatever the organization is with Red Cloak as the master and they share info with each other behind the scenes.
Later this year for the 25th anniversary would be a good time if they were to have a re-release in the foreseeable future

It’s interesting how Brandon Routh as Christopher Reeve as Superman, Kevin Spacey as Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, Marlon Brando, and some of John Williams’ original score are the only connections to the first two movies while everything else is totally different and clearly not set in the same time period a 5-year gap would take place. It would be like if someone made an Indiana Jones movie with an actor who looks like 1980s Harrison Ford but still having the movie set in modern times instead of the 1930s/1940s
Yeah, if I remember correctly, the idea was that the story would be changed so Magneto would be a victim of the Civil Rights movement in his childhood instead of the Holocaust to account for the race and age of Denzel in the role

Yes! I actually listened to the full-cast audiobook of Battlefield Earth recently, and it definitely would make an incredible movie or series of movies if done correctly like the new Dune movies. The book could be easily split into two or three movies since there are multiple points where the parts of the story have clear divisions. Also it ends with a nice epilogue to allow for future stories if an author or filmmaker were to continue to make more books/films beyond the Battlefield Earth book itself.

Yeah, Emma Stone has made somewhat of a comeback with Poor Things since I made this post. Keaton also had a boost in 2023 as well reprising his role as Batman in the Flash.
