I suggest you watch the First Lady and then judge for yourself. Her "Duckface" is so ridiculous and distracting that I couldn't do anything but concentrate on her lips the whole time. I wish it was a comedy but it is a historical series that gets on your nerves. Wonder why nobody told her to stop doing that while filming! Is it Walter’s fault that she is flirting with her boss and clearly thinking about marrying him as soon as Walt dies? I am happy that someone else has this view of the mother! The woman gets on my nerves. Interesting that there are so many similar female characters in Hitchcock's movies: stupid middle age women who constantly blabber nonsense. I must confess that other characters resemble that as well: the daughters, Charlie, and the little girl are also unpleasant characters. Think of all the nonsense Charlie was saying while lying on her bed at the beginning of the movie. Hitchcock's movies test your nerves with unpleasant characters and their conversations. In the second rewatch I also found Mike unlikeable. He was going to kill Walt in cold blood and was surprised and angry that Walt tricked him to save his life. He was also surprised that Walt was afraid of getting killed by Gus. Mike always acts as if everyone else is unreasonable: he is surprised that Walt doesn’t want his house to be bugged! All in all, he doesn't deserve any sympathy: he is a henchman for a murderous drug dealer and he actually has no code whatsoever. He didn’t try to save Walt’s life when Gus wanted to replace him with Gale and didn’t defend his coworker who was killed by a box cutter in front of his eyes. Have you noticed what she wears going to office as compared to what she wears in family gatherings and parties?! In front of Beneke, she is constantly flouting her breasts! Yes, I have. Unfortunately I did’t like it. I have read the book and loved it but it was probably only because of the first few pages. TV show was boring and a bit stupid. The WOKE casting is also very visible. 2. Yes. But would that scene make sense at all? 4. OK. But did that Black mob boss need to speak with the girl in French? Her English was clearly sufficient. Just a useless nonsensical detail. 5. Yes but when everything else is this bad you at least expect a reasonable story. In general, this is a bad movie like many others. What I don’t understand is the hype! Yes, I agree. But the reviewer seems to think that she is the key or a major clue to figure the story out Yes, they mention that she wants to get married but we don’t hear more about it And? Do you mean that Ms Zareh stole the coins? Or that she sent that lady to claim them? How would these work? I am watching as well but not willingly. When you invest time on a show it’s difficult to stop in the middle. The main problem is that there isn’t much story and they have to pretend that this girl was a Madoff level crook. She wasn’t! She just crashed some parties and stayed in some hotels without paying and conned a few people out of 200,000 $. All in all i’s a storm in a cup. You won't regret it. Then it’s not a good movie for those who only know classical. There are very few movies in standard Arabic, I guess. Same is true about Paula Jones. She was pretty not a long-nosed comical figure as in the series. I waited and waited for something interesting to happen. Such an unbelievable waste of time is in itself quite an accomplishment, I believe. The big surprise is that the last 20 min of the movie get interesting! They should have skipped the whole 120 min boring part and have begun right at the end! I should add that the second season is much better and quality improves considerably. Not a CYE imitation anymore. Your comment is nonsensical because you haven’t read the comments! Who said that they should have made the movie in other languages?! The discussion is about fake accents of British actors that make the series look like Allo! Allo! Exactly! Hire British actors only, even for female roles a British male would be prefreable to a foreign actress. Who cares about accents, we are Brits and don’t understand anything apart from English anyway! I see! That solves everything! The UK companies can’t hire none-British actors, right?! #sarc
