Haha I got paranoid when I saw the spoiler tag. You gonna watch this? I still like the 2014 Godzilla movie more than the 2 sequels and thought Shin Godzilla was good too. Keen to watch this since it seems to be uniformly getting praise everywhere. I'll read what you wrote in the spoiler tags after I've watched the movie, thanks. Just watched this and came here to see if anyone else thought the same thing. HG sounded like he was playing Michael Caine playing the character lol. Not a bad movie but nothing special either. Nearly every scene was something we've already seen in other movies. Don't get all the Aubrey Plaza hype either. 6.5/10 for me Without any spoilers or specifics, can you just say if the big G is solo in this movie a la Shin Godzilla or does it fight other Kaiju? Yes or no is good. Gonna watch this in IMAX - have seen and heard nothing but praise for it everywhere. Haha word is that Keelai got separated from the group and missed all the action coz he stopped in the foyer to lick some windows :D Yep. I don't expect a flawless film, but I do hope they get more things right than wrong. We are long overdue a real good Superman movie. DC does get it right with their animated movies, so fingers crossed they'll serve up an ace with this one. You are saying what I'm trying to show you. Your original post was that Batman movies will always succeed because of the Batman character and I showed you with my example that a shitty movie is going to bomb regardless of whether it's about Batman or Superman or Iron Man. Neither Superman Returns nor Man of Steel did proper justice to the Superman character. SR had that one amazing plane rescue scene that still is very popular with the fans but it was mostly forgettable beyond that. That one scene wasn't going to save the whole movie. Man of Steel had amazing action sequences and visuals, but was too dark and a bit bleak in tone. I personally love it, but for the Supes character to shine and be at his best, the movie needs to be lighter in tone and show all the qualities Superman is famous for. So, no, there hasn't been a good Superman movie that has done justice to the character - MoS and SR are the 'Batman and Robin' versions of Superman movies. If this movie is done right and is to Supes what The Dark Knight was to Batman, it will do very well at the BO. Exactly. Superman's biggest weakness isn't Kryptonite, it's his writers. The character is the most recognizable and popular SH of all times. If you make a Superman film with the same level of quality as the best Batman movies, there's no reason the public won't receive it well. I hope they don't nerf him like they neutered the Hulk in Avengers IW & Endgame, what with the current political climate being anti-masculinity and all. I want to see a near OP Supes doing things that are amazing to see. Fingers crossed. <blockquote>fans simply don't care for the character over BATMAN and it's true</blockquote> You can't qualify your own statement as true and your reasoning isn't very strong or logical. Batman and Robin bombed, proving Batman isn't exactly a guarantee for success. Superman has always been more popular and iconic than Batman (I say that as a Bats fan myself - I am a DC fan who likes DC more than Marvel, which I don't dislike). My list was more wishful thinking that probably isn't going to happen, but your conclusion in your OP is ridiculous - those movies flopped because they are lame, if not downright terrible. If you make a shitty movie, it is going to fail, whether it features Batman or someone else. Superman is the most iconic and popular of all superheroes, so might have the only exemption to the SH fatigue of the current climate. This movie can not only do well, but do great IF - David C does a good job as Supes and looks convincing enough - the movie has a good script and amazing action scenes that are only possible in a Superman movie - there is decent character development that doesn't dominate the run time, nor come at the expense of the action scenes - there is a menacing, powerful villain who isn't Lex Luthor (zzzzz) - LL should just be one of the main villain's allies, making things difficult for Supes, rather than take center stage as the main threat - there is no annoying, unnecessary SJW bullshit or lecturing about political issues shoehorned in - there are LOTS of scenes showcasing Superman's prowess - flight, strength, speed, nerve-wracking rescues, being a beacon of hope etc - they don't cram too much into this one movie. Start small, build the character and save some stuff for the sequel, rather than try to have a trilogy's worth of stuff in just one and ruining it - they don't cheapen a scene's impact by immediately following it with lame humor or snide one-liners, aka following the Marvel formula - avoid injecting unnecessary humor just for the sake of it There is no comparing Superman to nobodies like Ant Man or Blue Beetle. There is no SH in DC or Marvel who rivals him in terms of popularity or iconicness. We haven't had a proper solo SM movie since Christopher Reeves' version (MoS was a bit too dark in tone and didn't get some things right, although I loved it and SM Returns was forgettable except for the amazing plane rescue scene), so if the stars align and they get it right, it'll prove that the public still loves the genre as long as it's done well. The emotional outbursts from this bleeding vagina (HelloSidney, not Zegler) are just plain embarrassing and cringe. And funnily, feminists like Zegler despise simps like HS1996 more than any other type of people. Relax champ, I get a bit bored if I don't troll you from time to time ;) JDW ruined this movie for me, although it had other problems as well. Guy has no looks, charisma or presence like his old man, nor is he anywhere a good actor as DW. Some of the visuals and designs were great, but overall I found it to drag along at times, with shallow characterization, weak plot and action scenes. Having synths cry, be monks and do things like eat and sleep was also absurd. 6.5/10 Does Cuckwalski ever stop simping? ^^^ Cate Blanchett would've nailed that role, but then, she always does. Keelai got told he needs to take a urine test next week, so he's in the library, trying to figure out what to study for it. The scene where Arnold saves Edward Furlong in the canals from the T1000's truck and the robot walks out of the burning debris a bit later, changing from metallic to Robert Patrick. Also in the end when it goes from looking like Linda Hamilton to itself after the real LH shoots it while it's impersonating her to lure EF. Haha the ones who whine about him are all part of the "modern audiences" who approve of "the message". Love the drinker. Sometimes, his reviews are more entertaining and well written than the actual movies. It was done even earlier in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, although it became a more regular, mainstream thing after Michael Jackson's 'Black or White' song, which also preceded this movie. Just digital editing for visual effects I guess. There's more info on it in Wikipedia. Good times back then. I remember seeing the trailer for this movie and was excited (the trailer and film promo were played repeatedly on STAR TV, which was satellite TV, back where / when I was growing up) to watch it, cause it was a new Clint Eastwood movie and it looked great. Movies weren't churned out like cars in the conveyor belts of a mass production facility like they do nowadays, where quality has taken a back seat far behind quantity. There was no nauseating political SJW nonsense shoe horned in, America was admired and not hated by people everywhere, you weren't jaded from watching too many movies, the internet was just starting to become a phenomenon, was exciting and more about possibilities than a showcase of the dystopian times we seem to be moving towards sometimes. Crazy that this was all 30 years ago, which sounds a lot longer than it seems. Also, excellent movie and maybe the last of Clint's action movies that were fun to watch. 8/10. Haha nah, I keep his mom busy and the only thing she does in her spare time is complain about what a f*cking loser her son is. Seriously tho, it's sad when you realize that all the women that these grovelling simps white knight for despise them more than any other humans on planet. Haslet is pathetic, same as all the other simps that always rally around to protect the non-existent honor of these feminist trash.
