Yeah I also didn't like the season. I think it was the new school, which seemed so boring, without any edge. It's the most tolerant liberal utopia of a school ever and we are supposed to believe they are not gonna get the lift fixed so the wheelchair person can go to his classes and move his classes downstairs until it's fixed? It's not believable that this would be anything but a passing concern so why would you as a viewer care?
The new characters didn't really grab me and seemed to have been added to the story on the basis of some 'gotta catch them all' logic as I already mentioned above. I wonder if that's because I'm a white heterosexual male and I can relate less and might have some subconscious remnants of discrimination in me, or if any people that are non-binary, trans etc. themselves feel the same way.
Adam, one of my favourite characters, still had his own story but standalone unconnected to the rest of the cast so it felt disjointed. Maeve I never really liked but she's a main characters and sticking her somewhere abroad having her own stories, also unconnected to the rest of the cast is also wrong. They should have either kept them in or written them out.
And the sex-counsellor-battle, completely pointless and so forced... Why could there have to be only one? Why would whoever loses not just continue to provide sex advice to their friends? The stakes are literally 0. I cannot imagine anyone watching and caring about that.

I also found it unrealistic, at least not relatable. Also thought about explaining it as a stag do when I saw the scene. But then again, it always seems crazy to me how people can be preoccupied with 'keeping up appearances'. Maybe it's not a flaw in the storytelling but a lack in my imagination and empathy.
Also after studying the scene again you see some lines of cokes, and although I'm pretty sure there's a lot of cops using all kinds of drugs, but sanctimonious as they are, it's definitely grounds for firing if they find out, maybe even just being at a party where people are openly doing that.

This is such a weird video. Even before going into the whole amnesia stuff, just the first few minutes. He criticises the Adam Sandler character for trying to sleep with many women and dumping them like a main character doing bad things should not be possible in a movie - like only movies with boring flawless heroes should be allowed. While actually it's the starting point of adam sander's redemption arc turning from a player into a faithful and caring boyfriend.

And he should have recused himself from that jury. When he didn't I thought the plot was gonna be that they found out and he was gonna get cancelled for that but then the movie was over. Would have been a bad plot but now the fact that he was judging his own book was just ignored.

They could have done so much more with the premise, and made the reveal and the aftermath part of the story (how his students respond, how the university responds, how his fellow intellectuals respond, how the media take him apart). Really dissected the attitudes of white and black people towards these kind of books and its writers, instead they just filled the screentime with a lifetime movie plot.
Only don't agree with point 3. Every movie (except the few taking place with only a few people in an enclosed space) has tons of one dimensional side characters for the simple reason that there's no time to give everyone a multidimensional backstory. The only reason you notice in this case is because the main characters are all black and some of these side characters are white. But it's normal that some stories have a main character that has mostly people of the same ethnicity as friends and family members. This is a common situation in real life. There have also been plenty of movies and tv series that focus on a white main character and his white friends. It's not bad to show a different demographic for a change.
