I love joe and especially Artie and Doug, but they needed support from adam imo to bring all of them together. These guys had no clue how to do the show and needed more direction.

I think one of the main reasons maybe because people view Joaquin Phoenix as an exceptional yet eccentric talent , especially due to his childhood and coming from the family he had. It makes for an interesting kind of situation with him playing the Joker imo.
