just saw this movie because i ended up putting kevin costner's name in my TV for anything he is in for the fun of it. i did like the movie and my first thought was within 10 minutes was"did kevin costner get oscar recognition for this"?! apparently not, but i hardly recognized him in this character and even his voice was a bit different. as you said, great cast (though ryan reynolds was hardly in it) and interesting story. it was a bit difficult to figure out who was who at times but overall i am surprised it apparently flopped. i do this myself sometimes too but have to remember it's a MOVIE not non-fiction or a documentary. the premise is exactly like "Tom" in the Solos series. it's more one on one but the same. you might like that series if you haven't seen it. this one was good as well but it brought me right back to the Solos series. Just watched the movie. Pretty good. Like you, I got so freaking confused at who is who as far as the age differences as well. They just looked like grandmother, daughter and her daughter. I didn’t see another generation there at all. Not to mention the confusion in names. Not sure if that was intentional but it really threw me off. Even when apparently the great grandmother explained it , couldn’t follow it. !! Totally agree with all your points. I found it so drawn out. Season 4 could’ve been half the episodes. I really liked the first three seasons and was looking forward to the fourth one. I’m not even sure I’m going to bother with season five. I got onto Hulu again just for the series and I’m not sure if it’s going to be worth it in about a year. Sometimes these season shows just drag on and on if they’re popular only to make the people more money and they are not that great. Yeah no kidding !! I HATE when they don’t get the ages EVEN somewhat close. This should have probably been about three different people. Max was 29… Excuse me he’s 37! I looked at that and I thought what the F!! And college?. Really?! Just really takes away from the whole vibe of the series. I am enjoying it though! Just starting to watch season one. As soon as this actress came on screen, I said WTF? 11th grade? What idiots to be casting her. I thought for sure she was in her mid-20s. Every time I see her on screen, I cringe. Really takes away from the character. thank you so much. i wish they had a little symbol for "like" so you know i read it! Thanks for the questions everyone and the answers. I actually; by the time it was over, liked the movie. I think the visuals were really good and the storyline was kind of interesting. I believe at the end she could see her baby although it wasn’t his and he knew it. I think she may have known it too. The only question I have is about how long she was blind seems like when they were little girls and did he marry her when she was blind? There were a lot of flashbacks and I was a little confused sometimes but I believe he was so distraught that he eventually probably got into an accident and died. Still am confused as far as who died exactly & not sure how she became blind? What exactly happened? It’s a shame that the movie did not make more money because I did look it up. I wish we can rate movies on this site instead of IMDb because I’m not a member anymore because they don’t allow the message board. They’d get a lot more money for their stupid ads if they would bring back the message boards. What what a bunch of F***ing idiots!! Thanks so much! I just wasn’t sure her approach and that she seemed kind of weird & who might she really be working for. i also get dvds from the library as ours is very up to date on tv shows/movies. the one that i just got from the library was season 10 of "the big bang theory". i waited until it came out at the library so i can watch it whenever. now i'm recording season 11. this show is probably the best, if not close to, the best writing, acting and just general funny stuff not to mention the little tidbits written at the end of each show episode by chuck lorre, i think. it's a riot and sheldon is a hoot! i also do like friends and seinfeld. no i haven't. i heard about it and that it was good. however, there comes a point where you have to prioritize what shows to start watching and what not to or you'll be sitting in front of a tv all day which i don't want to do. i have 2 jobs, 2 dogs and friends so i'd rather just watch a few recorded shows here and there. but, if i get the chance, and run out of tv shows to watch, i'll keep it in mind. Sorry did not see house… Did not remember the dramatic music. I was just interested in the story. The bunny was fine as a story. No i'm gving you a break. I was looking forward to it. I thought it was really interesting. It was a different perspective. God forbid that guy was awful cute. thanks...that makes sense about the mom now...didn't think of that one! i thought she died from her injuries and then the boyfriend and her twin took the babies??!! hmm.. what did you think of the movie amac? and that whole grandfather scenario? just finished watching it. honestly, i'm not sure of the ending either. it shows monday had 2 babies unborn that she was protecting by that guy but with all the babies, no clue. it appears that cayman was reforming the laws just as long as everyone could take care of their children (yeah right...doesn't happen it real life). i liked the movie and it's premise from the beginning. it reminded me just a tad of soylent green (harrison ford). definitely makes you think for one side and the other. apparently, in 30 yrs there had been a radical decline of births but from the film, it appeared like just as many people. also, it states i believe that people were still hiding their other children. what i didn't quite get was the beginning...he was the grandfather and what happened? his daughter got killed or what? overall, very good movie except too much violence for me but i just put my head down during those parts!! good makeup and acting by the lead for sure. i agree with most of the points you brought up. first thing i thought was, where is will smith? i did like the original film and even though they had good actors, i.e. jeff goldblum in it, it just wasn't interesting. what i can't believe it how much $$ it made ($100mm+). i rate it just about what everyone rated it. oh wait...i can't rate a movie on this site??!! i have to go to IMdb? no thanks...i deleted my IMdb account because they deleted the message boards. i try not to go on there unless absolutely necessary. Somebody for this forum. I've been having ImDb with drawls for months The message boards were a great way to find out answers to your questions and opinions. I just had to remember to read my response if it was angry at least five times before I hit enter. 95% of the time I did not hit enter and just as well I make up my own mind once I watch it Don't read reviews before i see a film. rarely look at trailers. Just enough to get the general idea. actually enjoyed season one. looking forward to season two but find that it won't be out until October? Are you kidding me? Just finished the series. It was a fairytale ending overall. Some of the other scenarios people have come up with on here are pretty good as an ending as well. Glad I watched it though. If it was any type of glimpse into the English way of life back in that era, It was interesting. ladies made butler under butler, footman etc. someone to dress you, brush your hair, make your meals. Wow!! I did find Mary, irritating of all. However probably, it was written that way.
