And this does not happen with quite a number of other VIP's? For all the whining about Trump all the things you needed to know about him were right out in the open well before he ran for POTUS. Further, it really is no different than the people who line up for jobs with professional sports teams. There are always going to be people who will think that it will be different with themselves in terms of longevity.

Who the heck knows. Ask a question in a given local and you are likely to receive a biased answer based on the local. Go into a bar in a rough neighborhood and ask women that and no doubt quite a few will answer yes to bad boys and dangerous men. Pretty sad comment on humanity that mates are chosen using criteria such as that but it readily shows you we are not far evolved from other animals.
If I had to guess it would be that Serling's story telling style did not lend it self to a one hour format. Meaning that the essence of a story could be distilled in a half an hour without a lot of useless filler in terms of lines and action.
Pretty much. If humanity is around in a few hundred years and I think that it will they will have that "what the hell were they thinking" thought moment when wondering how things got so screwed up in our time. Biggest example is working humans as slave labor for the enrichment of a few. Next would be putting money ahead of the environment (ground water pollution). I am anything but a raving liberal on most matters but these things need to change at some point.
I seldom dream about people I know but in the last couple of months have had dreams about people I went to school with. Even now it is very few people. Most of my dreams are about needing to drive some place and taking about 4 hours to get some place that takes an hour. For a while I was having dreams where I had to walk a great distance (60 miles) in a snow storm. I could look up and above a few hundred feet see the sun shining. I would walk for a while then come across a bar/grill and go inside. The patrons for the most part would ignore me but a few would ask why I was there and that I should leave as soon as I get something to eat. Then there were dreams about seeing UFO's and they would spot me outside walking. Those dreams seldom got beyond that point. One time that dream lasted to where all of a sudden they take off again leaving me there. Thanks guys, I was looking for a lift but you took off on me! Sex dreams are infrequent and normally don't get to the actual sex act itself. Good thing that they say it is normal to dream about somebody other than your spouse (wife in my case) because I would be in deep trouble. Usually, the women though hot are not anybody that I have ever known.
Only if there were stories about some little girl admiring a portrait of a conservative to go along with stories about MO. And they appeared during the last 5 minutes of the newscast which tends to be human interest. Further, I don't even have an ax to grind with MO unlike most other conservatives. I actually appreciated her effort to convert some of the White House lawn into a vegetable garden. Oh well, I can see some of us are made to be mindless cogs in a Marxist state but not me.
I was not going to bother with the following until this thread came up. NBC News during the past week had a segment with a little girl admiring the recent portrait of Michelle Obama. This little girl looked at the portrait and declared MO a queen. While I understand that the last 5-7 minutes of a news cast can go to human interest the portrait story was still in the portion normally allocated to headline stories. As a human interest story I have no problem but the story in my mind was set up in a way to make it more than a human interest story. Granted I never lived behind the Iron Curtain or in a totalitarian state but in my mind that was a story that a state controlled media would run. I don't want dynasties whether they be Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump or whatever. Best man or woman up for the job period.
I know it makes people very comfortable to think that we all mature at the same rate but that is not even closely true especially when it comes to sexuality. If we could come to grips with that we could better deal with things such as rape. Meaning we could be proactive in terms of discussing sexual desires and what it appropriate and inappropriate as opposed to dealing with somebody after a crime has been committted.
Archie was a reflection of Lear's own father of whom he had a lot of issues with. And to some degree with his mother indicating she was flawed as well. Apparently, she made comments not limited to but including describing a person as "the laziest white man I saw" which was to imply that was still more productive than any black person. Lear never made any comments to the effect saying that Mike had any flaws. Mike's positions and Lear's overlapped on a number of things. I think that this was covered in TV Guide on more than one occasion a few decades ago.

Not if you read some of the comments by Norman Lear. I would be interested in knowing if Lear had said something to the effect of what you are saying.
Quite a few people don't necessarily view Star Trek as a liberal bastion including myself. I remember many debates while in college over whether Star Trek was an example of imperialism and self imaged American superiority. Not my view point but the view of more than a small segment of the population. Even All in the Family did not get perceived as intended as many including myself found Mike as somewhat patronizing and hypocritical among other flaws. Many people put themselves through college without help or working part time which Mike was never willing to do.
Just the charged nature of it made it undesirable for reruns despite the brilliance of it. Reruns during the 1980's and 1990's helped maintain the legacy of a show.
Around the early 1980's MASH was everywhere in syndication. Probably the first I saw run in two hour blocks when every other half hour show only got a half per day. It looks pretty dated today and the production values don't hold up.
She sure was not submissive to Frasier, either.
Dallas. Dynasty. It would have helped me land a hot girl when I was much younger and these shows were still on the air. She was interested in those kinds of shows and due to schedule I was around her for two hours each week. My stubborn nature won out so I had no talking point to further a conversation. Not like things would have gone very far with her anyways.
This may seem sacri-religious but you hear very little about Seinfeld anymore and not a whole lot on these boards where like minded people can discuss such a show.
The existence of women besides Eve was obvious but extraneous to the moral. My father's mother was the same as your mother that nothing was to be questioned and probably lacked the intellect to ask certain questions. What she did know got her through life. Getting back to the discussion I never took a "completist" view that everything had to be put on paper. I was quite capable of filling in the blanks.
As to your notion that we are all related if you look at some of the theory on evolution it was proposed that humanity grew from a half dozen common ancestors. Nothing was every said about those half dozen potentially being related. Further, you could extrapolate that the figures named in Genesis being Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel give us four of those six then the matter of a couple of additional females.
Just from a luck standpoint I have always found something bad to happen when I question something about the origins of the Bible. God punishing or just coincidence who knows.
