The founder of this site made a post here which addresses your question: http://www.moviechat.org/movies/general/posts/58a28ce74dcf9300116f391d IMO I think it's a kind of a "gray area" thing, but the founder is a former lawyer and looks like he did his homework. I spoke with Jim over email and he's open to taking suggestions for the site. Priority number 1 is obviously gathering as much data from IMDB before it shuts down, but he's open to suggestions after that. I personally like the current design - it's very simple which makes it easy to navigate. Wonder what others think? You mean Pretty Woman? http://www.moviechat.org/movies/tt0100405 Welder is correct. You should also see the FAQ post this site's founder (jim) made here: http://www.moviechat.org/movies/general/posts/58a28ce74dcf9300116f391d We have nothing to worry about. All the old IMDB posts have been archived and stored in a separate database (I confirmed with the founder of this site over email). So even after IMDB shuts down, all the posts will still be here. Hi Neo (assume you're from the Matrix?) We're a young but growing community. This is our 2nd day in existence, and I'm starting to see more and more people here. Good luck OP, hope you have a fun night. I actually saw that movie a few days ago. Don't want to spoil it for you or anything, but be prepared to see a guy's ass. Thanks for making this FAQ. Would be interesting to see something like IMDB/RT ratings on the movie pages as well. Lol I really doubt he manually copy/pasted each thread. Google web scraping. @krillin_09: OP here. I think the site just started today (based on the IMDB post here: http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/thread/266007070 from earlier today) Haven't seen any other posts on IMDB about this site (which is surprising given that all of the other competitors popping up have been spamming IMDB non-stop...one of the things I emailed the founder is to actually create more posts on IMDB promoting this site haha)
