Anti-SJWs, what are your thoughts on this movie?

Just to be clear, this isn't an attack in any way, I'm genuinely interested in your thoughts, and I will fully respect your opinions, even if I disagree with them.

I recently watched it for the first time, and I think it's a great movie, but it isn't perfect.

I used to be an anti-SJW, but then I realised I was just blindly believing everything the anti-SJWs said. Now I have no idea what's true and what's a lie.

I noticed there was a bit of hate before the movie was released, people assumed it was SJW propaganda. I haven't seen any hate after it was released, presumably because it's a great movie.

However, I am surprised I haven't seen anti-SJWs talk about it. I don't think the movie is anti-men, but you could make reasonable arguments that it is. And the movie seems to imply that America is a misogynistic, patriarchal rape culture, which anti-SJWs always say is completely untrue.

I don't think America is patriarchal. I do see a lot of misogyny, but I'm not sure whether or not it's the minority. I'm not entirely sure whether or not America is a rape culture, but I actually am leaning more towards thinking it is.

The title is a reference to the phrase "promising young man", which is sometimes used to describe convicted rapists, such as Brock Turner and the Steubenville rapists. It is absolutely disgusting how much sympathy the media gave the rapists, without even mentioning the victim, and how Brock Turner only got six months.

That being said, I think the movie does seem to exaggerate the issue. For example, I can't imagine a rape being filmed and sent to everyone, and everyone thinking it's funny, and not reporting it to the college or police.

I only really have one huge issue with the movie. The message seems to be that rape accusers should be automatically believed by everyone, and the accused should be automatically expelled from college, even if there isn't sufficient evidence. This may not be the writer's intention, but it kinda seems like it may be.

I think the issue here is that there was overwhelming evidence.

You had multiple witnesses and a video that circulated.

And that wasn’t enough to bring a rapist down. The fact that she was very drunk was enough for everyone, including women, to excuse the rape.

If people had the right mindset, this case would’ve been a slam dunk.

Instead, Nina was left alone and not a single person that was there or saw the video helped her.

The far right are the only ones who are correct. Everyone else is a moron including you.
