My two favorite scenes

I thought this was one of the best sports movies since Moneyball. And it reminded me that Will Smith is really no joke when it comes to acting.

My first favorite scene was when Richard and Oracene were in Florida and had that argument in the kitchen. Incredibly intense; talking about the things Richard was afraid of and her fearlessly pointing out his flaws.

My second was when Richard finally conceded to let Venus decide her fate and they talk face to face over the tennis net. Just a wonderful, touching moment.

It's about time we had a film that shows black people in a positive way. Hopefully, this is a new trend. And he literally is a KING, too. Greatest man in the universe.

I'd say mine were when he was dealing with the Gang member harassing his daughter & the Shooting scene.

First off, thanks for writing a post about the qualities of the film itself. It's a nice reminder that this is still, in some small sense, at least, a movie forum website for cinephiles.

Second of all, I agree with the Venus over the tennis net scene. You're right that Smith is no joke when it comes to acting and that scene was powerful. But I agree with rex on the scene where he confronts the gang member. So those would be my favorite two scenes.
