Look, the movie is alright, but nothing special. Some good action and not bad directing wise, but the story is nothing original and it was surprisingly slow at times. The 2nd act really dragged and had way too many flashbacks. I don't regret seeing it, but I could've waited to rent it at home. Nothing beyond your average action movie. Not sure why the critics are so crazy about it.
shareIt's not bad considering it's budget was only $10 million but yeah it did seem to struggle to fill the two hour running time, especially in the second act. Worth a watch but won't be revisiting again anytime soon.

I'm having this feeling a lot lately, with both films and TV shows. Perhaps critics grew so desperate during the pandemic that when half-decent flicks appeared they went wild for them. Whatever the reason, we're living in an age of hype.
The story nothing original? Where have you seen it before? Don't say John Wick just because of the action scenes.
