Did they ever explain Loki's time slipping?

Maybe I missed it, but did they ever explain exactly why it was happening?

Maybe somewhere out there is was mentioned. But they speak so many "science nonsense" every second that I missed it.
I gave up long time ago to try to follow what writers are making up every second. It makes no sense and has no connection to reality anyway.
I would actually like to hear from science people what they think of that nonsense that was happening on screen.

I'm okay with science nonsense since it's a superhero universe about time travel and gods. I do ask that shit be explained, though.

I'm okay with science nonsense since it's a superhero universe. But this was too much and none of it made sense. It like they just made up things every second. They were just running around and screaming fancy sciensy words no one understood. Including writers.

My best explanation:
Loki God of mischief magician has some kind of natural talent for time travel or smth - that's why 'the one who remains' chose him to be his successor, cause he didn't want the job anymore. And led him on his path to finally meet him and offer him the job.
