I'm surprised Michael B. Jordan didn't become new Black Panther...

Is anyone else surprised they did not resurrect Michael B. Jordan's role into a new Black Panther?

Even though he was the villain and killed off, as popular and well-liked as he is, I've been surprised he was not enlisted to become the new Black Panther.

Does anyone have an idea why and if he even maybe turned it down?

There's actually rumors that MBJ will be resurrected in some fashion. They really put themselves in a corner by not just pushing this back until they decide what they want to do with T'Challa.
