Getting frustrated at the stretching out of these last two episodes

The last two episodes have been extremely frustrating. Mustache-twirling villain takes over the ship is nonsense enough, but it filled two whole episodes. The whole thing feels so stretched out.

Picard and Bev are hiding in one room, Geordi and his kid in another with Data plugged into the system... yet they don't have search parties running around looking for them? What, they can't get a tricorder out and look for life forms?

Kidnapping Riker (and for what again?) then suddenly Worf just appears to save him? Why not dedicate the better part of an episode showing him infiltrate and get there instead of the whole Jack-I'm-giving-myself-up-Picard-no-you're-not that played out for an hour and a half?

Ugh. This was a great season until the last two episodes. Crossing fingers it picks up again as the finale approaches.

Yes, the pacing is not very good. But at least there are some good moments every now and then. I kind of see it as an impromptu stage performance from the old crew as a gesture to the fans of yesteryear to offer closure.

Some of the old NG magic is still there.

That's what's keeping me around. I missed this crew and seeing them at the table together, albeit as deliberately as they could possibly make it, was very cool indeed.

For a sec there I thought you said there is only 2 episodes left because that'd be a rush to conclude Frontier Day and save Enterprise-F as a last reveal.

There was a LOT of "We don't have TIME!" dialog...

Then, they sit around expounding about the past ad nauseum.
