Dad apparently didn't believe me when I told him I wasn't watching this anymore...
I managed to watch that cringe-worthy, first season, and honestly, if it takes six episodes, out of a ten-episode season for it to finally improve, you've got a problem. I was able to tolerate it because of the last 4 episodes, but after that, I was done.
I'm going by this mantra when it comes to Star Trek: if the kids can't watch it, Kurtzman is in charge of making it, and it acts like a soapbox for current-day left-wing politics, (very poorly disguised, I might add), it ain't Star Trek.
Dad wasn't pleased, but he's realizing, after watching the first episode, that if they turn this into another anti-Trump orgy, he's out too. He says they're gearing up to go back in time to the year 2024 (sound familiar?) because it was apparently a "flashpoint" that caused disaster in the future. Hmm....? I wonder what could be happening in 2024? Could it be an American Presidential election that will be as contested as the last two? Anyone?
Considering "woke Trek" started in 2016, this doesn't surprise me one bit.
Like I said, this Picard series is shit, and you would all be doing yourself a favor not watching it.
