Question - the new truck

Where did he get the money for the new truck? He had only done one run and the pay wasn't that high yet.

Also, I'm surprised that the middlemen were approving of his 'new ride', as it was a lot more conspicuous than his old truck - which, even if it died, could have been replaced with another inconspicuous old beater.

Lease perhaps.

A bought a new truck 50 years ago, and when it broke down, he got a new truck. It would be conspicuous to get an old one.

I also thought the new, big, black shiny truck was much more conspicuous. He just looked nearly invisible in the old one. And money could have put the old one into a more reliable ride.

Yeah, the money seemed like way too much. Yeah, he's carrying large amounts of drugs, but he's doing the same thing, just driving point A to point B.

The last few envelopes just looked like a ridiculous amount. They're all criminals. Hard to imagine whoever left the envelopes would't get 'sticky fingers'

reply

Maybe the cartels work differently and kill more easily for small crimes like that.

From an interview with the prosecuting attorney in the real life case:

"He got paid about a thousand dollars per kilo he was delivering and his normal load was about 250 kilos to Detroit. People should realize [the film] was fictionalized from what was actually occurring with Leo Sharp."
