And practically NOTHING has actually happened. Just a bunch of mystery boxes and padded episodes with scenes that go on for longer than they should.

Then it turns out that there were 7 episodes of shit just to tread water and they actually blew 600 million on a giant middle earth BDSM orgy.

shareSeems like it. 7 hours and these are the major events
1. Galadriel does not go to valar, accidentally found halbrand and numenor and has them go to southlands to kill some orcs
2. Some guy crashed like a meteor and we still don't know who he is but is being pursued over 3 episodes by 3 mysterious women with significant power
3. Harfoots moved to a new place
4. Elves found mithril and dwarves didn't help them
5. Mt doom explodes and mordor is formed, all in basically 5mins.
That's about it. That's a lot of time for very little story. This isn't supposed to be a whodunit show. LotR doesn't need mystery speculation as to which char is who. Just tell us because I bet you the reveal will fall flat.
It's quite childish behavior imo.
Visually it is stunning but story and balance and above all what made LotR is lacking. And that is TEAMWORK. They worked well on their strengths in the movie unlike here.
