You're Hardwired for This, You're Hardwired for That....

It's really getting old. No pun intended. The writing for his training officer is horrible. The "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" theme is already tiresome. Is she a robot? Was she just popped out of a machine? Because he's 20some years older than her, his brain is frozen a certain way? Was she not raised with opinions that have to change? Was she not hardwired. Has she had zero life experiences prior to this job? It's just pathetic.

It's pretty good actually. Of course they have to deal with all those tired tropes, but they have to do that to get into fresh terroritory. It is a bit like the ... 99th Precinct, but not slapstick humor, it has some intelligence to it as well. I like the show, I like the characters ... it's good writing and good acting so far.

Of course she will change her opinion, the training officers are responsible for identifying traits in the rookies that might make them unfit for the job. So they will push those buttons and see how they respond. They don't know if the rookies will make it through training, but we know at least the star of the show will.
