How can they so blatantly rip off another movie?

This is the same story as A Quiet Place, did they buy the rights or something?

You can only copyright the exact same story. This was not exactly the same.

A year later, but why not: this is an adaptation of the novel by the same name. Which came out in 2015. THREE YEARS *BEFORE* "A Quiet Place" came out.

See how that works?

You can go now.

Thanks for dropping the information bomb, this was very helpful!

Looks like A Silent Place might be the borrowed story. So if there is a rip off...

Just discovered this existed by looking at the directors work on IMDB (I watched another film he made last night).

On the outside looking in this looks so much like Netflix wanted their own A Quiet Place.

You know that meme where the mother says don't worry honey we have xyz at home. That instantly came to mind.

Still I might check it out.

Let us know what you think, I watched it on Netflix and liked it more than A Quiet Place. I liked the direction it went in storywise and also the characters where more likeable in The Silence. The creatures are also designed differently.

That's cool to here. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Quiet Place films. Both were decent but I'm not crazy into them.

I am someone who can enjoy a good B movie over it's A movie equivalent. I wouldn't be surprised if I too liked this more than AQP.
