This is better than a 5.8...

This doc did a good job of capturing that dark, fateful day by having crews in several parts of the US, and by picking strong and interesting characters to follow throughout the day.

Some people may not want to relive 11/8/16 again so soon, but it is a well made piece, especially considering its scope of only 24 hours. It will only become better with time.

I would’ve liked to see a litt more of the fallout, but maybe that doc is still writing itself.

I give this movie a solid 7 or 7.5.

Sort of unrelated, but the colorist did a really good job with the footage, and most of it was shot pretty well, too.

The F'n century just gets worse and worse. First it was the election of George W. Bush. Then it was his $8 trillion budget bomb. Then it was 911. Then when one might have thought Obama would turn that around as a Democrat, Obama turns out to be closer to a Republican than a Democrat. Finally we have the 2016 election and the inauguration of Donald Trump. Then we find out media and election system is a total farce, and the Establishment seems to like it and want it that way.

On this terrible trajectory one can only imagine that war with North Korea or Iran is lining up.

This is nothing like I ever thought the 21st century would be like ... it's revolting.

I agree with you though, to me it is to early to want to relive this dark day. I do not even like seeing Hillary Clinton all over the news trying to normalize herself and trying to assign blame and see if she can gain political support to do the whole mess over again.

It is an ugly day, and ugly year, and an ugly century so far.

It’s interesting how critics of Obama seem to label him a socialist/communist or an extension of the Republican status quo. (The more intelligent naysayers tend to choose the latter.) I think he was an excellent president given what he inherited and the direction the country (and world) was going in. But that’s just my opinion and I’m not trying to change yours.

It’s been a rough century for sure. Almost everything is undergoing huge structural changes, and with that, chaotic upheaval that’s hard to make sense of. It’s hard to be an optimist, or even a realist in these times.

I don’t know why this movie didn’t bother me more than it did. Maybe I’m just numb to our current reality, but I liked it. Hearing Trump voters explain why they support him (and rationalize his lifetime of immoral behavior) is always interesting to me, too.

I appreciate Obama for what he was. I was not call him
excellent in any way, but he did the job. Better than Bush,
WAY better than Trump, but still a bait-and-switch as he implied
he was going to be a transformative President and all he did
was keep things going pretty much.

ObamaCare was supposed to be health care reform, which
morphed into health insurance reform, and with no public
option. All the negative trends of America started to come to
light under Obama. I don't mean to say he was the cause, but
after decades of basically Republican oligarchic rule I think people
expect more from Obama, like a new interpretation of the NEW
DEAL or the American social contract. They expect a lot from
Trump too, which goes to show how stupid people are I guess, or
rather what happens when people get too lazy to vote and do not
show up, letting the nuts decide the election.

I've come to the conclusion that our elections are a farce. I think
they are rigged actually, or maybe it is just that there is the fix
put in in more and more places.

The Republican tax bill comes up for a vote this week and it looks
as if it could pass, which includes more undercutting or ObamaCare,
and huge tax breaks for the 1%. There is nothing out there that
represents the people, and the barriers to putting something in
place are insurmountable, as money takes over everything.

Yeah, the colorist did a good job.
