They've just confirmed that it will be set in the 1980's and Steve Trevor will be returning. I can't wait to see how they're going to explain this one.

Well it's a comic book movie and so a now understanding of the world Diana could teach him as an out of the water fish how the world of the 80's work.

Anything like a last minute teleport from his doomed plane to magic or a perfect copy of him being in storage could cover the problem elements of his apparent death in the first movie I reckon.

Maybe Steve Trevor, Jr? That would be weird, like Cap going for Peggy's niece while alternate timeline Cap was shacking up with Peggy.
