Skills ex Machina

The movie (I'd never call it a film) COMPLETELY skipped the "initiation" phase of Joseph Campbell's hero's journey. She disappears for a couple of years and voila' she has incredible skills that we never see her strive to attain and which we're asked to believe that an average housewife could just kinda easily find and acquire anywhere - no, really trust us! SMDH. Guess they didn't have the budget to film that part.
