Many parallels.

Spouse and child murdered by thugs.

Dissapears for 5 years instead of 10.

Gets highly trained in guns, combat and explosives.

Murders a crooked judge with an explosive triggered by cell phone.

Not the same ending of course but this felt all too familiar. And oh yes ridiculously implausible.
