The scholar's stone. *SPOILERS*

So it floated in the flood scene, so it's probably a fake I assume. Did the friend Min know it was a fake or did neither he or his grandfather recognize it was a fake themselves?
I'm just curious if the director was trying to convey that Min thought the Kims were ignorant and wouldn't notice or that he himself was ignorant and couldn't tell a real rock from a fake? (if that makes any sense)

reply

It didn't float when he placed it in the river though. I don't think we're supposed to assume it was fake. That may have just been an oversight.

reply

That's because Min didn't actually respect Kevin. He only picked Kevin to take over his job because he thought Kevin was a loser and posed the least amount of threat to him as a competition. So despite whatever fancy talk he gave, the scholar's stone was a fake.

reply

I figured as much. I just like that detail being thrown in.

reply

Kevin? Who he. No Kevin is listed, not even in the full cast list.

reply

Not sure if you're serious but I'm talking about Kim Ki-woo, the son of the Kim family. Kevin is the name he use as the English teacher.
