Did you miss the Russian woman in the film? I laughed out loud when Leslie Jones said "we have a cousin named that" about Caviar. I think you very much underestimate the corrosive power of sea water and high pressure. We're not talking about modern stainless steel here. Medieval metallurgy can only produce iron that is impure. Once it gets thrown in the water it'll only take a few month to become brittle. With enough time, she could probably just kick the thing open. Given the clues available in the movie, it's pretty clear that it's MLK. Let's look at what we have: - the Nixon interview about ceasefire was done in 1971. - Kennedy was killed in 1963 - the recording was made couple years prior to the event of the movie, which rules out it being JFK - MLK was killed in 1968 - in the movie, they mentioned that whoever was on the film had already died, and the memory of him was more important - we know that in real life the FBI had sent tape off King's infidelity to his wife Given all of these I think it's pretty clear that it's MLK Not sure if you're serious but I'm talking about Kim Ki-woo, the son of the Kim family. Kevin is the name he use as the English teacher. Kevin's intention was to kill them. Prior to him going down, he talked about how despite the party being a last minute arrangement, everybody who showed up looked nice and belonged. This is in contrast to him, who actually has to work to fit into the lives of the rich. A flood came and took away everything that his family own. If you look at the scene in the gymnasium, even the clothes on their backs were donations from others. Yet despite this, the rich people were ready to party after the flood. This is why Kevin asked if he looked like he belonged. He was going to take the rock to finish the job so that he could cement his place within the lives of the rich. That's because Min didn't actually respect Kevin. He only picked Kevin to take over his job because he thought Kevin was a loser and posed the least amount of threat to him as a competition. So despite whatever fancy talk he gave, the scholar's stone was a fake. Because the mother actually killed somebody. Yes, it was ruled justifiable self-defense in the end, but even then I don't think any country would not put you through court after you've caused the death of somebody, however justifiable it was. That's because the Scholar's Rock wasn't real. The reason why Kevin's friend wanted Kevin to take over his tutoring job wasn't because he liked Kevin, but rather that he thought Kevin was a loser and posed the least amount of threat to him as a competition for Da-Hye's love. Despite all the fancy talk about Scholar's Rock, it was a fake one with a hollow center. You can see this when the rock floated up during the flood. A real piece of solid rock wouldn't float. But because of this, Kevin was spared because he was only hit with a hollow rock instead of a real one. It's not directly stated but you can piece together the general story of Aki. Hatsue's ex husband left her and got together with his mistress, and they had a son together (Aki's father). Aki is the son of her father and her father's original mother. Aki's father also left his wife and got together with his mistress. That's why when Hatsue said you both really look alike, she's actually making fun of him for doing the exact same thing his father did. Aki's father's had another daughter with his new wife. Aki's step mother doesn't really care for her and therefore the parents pay all of their attention to this new daughter. This is why Aki uses her sister's name as her pseudonym in the hostess club, as she wish she was her younger sister, who grew up with the full love of her parents. You can tell this because she's perky and friendly, unlike Aki. Likely Aki ran away from her home and decided to stay with Hatsue, telling them that she's in Australia, because despite not being of blood relations, she actually gets more love with this old woman than with her actual family.
