revenge vs. death wish

I can't answer why, because I find no interest to watch "death wish". Is it worth watching?
Anyway, I watched "Revenge" because I was curious why it got a higher rating than those "I Spit on Your Grave" movies. I think it is good but I would give it a 6/10 due to lacking of a twist in the end. If I got the story correctly, then [spoiler]the poor girl actually dead hanging on the tree like that and the whole resurrection and revenge miracle is just an alternative reality in the eye of Jen's non-resting soul. There are many hints given to the audiences, helping us to realize that the following half of the story is not real. Yet, we all know that some idiots still need to see it before believe it. So as a twist in the end, the director should switch back to the reality with the same slow motion scene of Jen's blood dropping on the ant under the tree. Unfortunately, the director either was lack of courage to follow through that, or maybe sink too deep into her fantasy of revenge.[/spoiler]

The original Death Wish was far more brutal and a much better film than either the remake or this blood drenched fantasy...forget the sequels though.

Revenge is about a young girl that is dumb as a box of rocks. She goes off to a secluded area with a man she barely knows (only with the knowledge that he's rich and married) and is deluded that the power in her sex appeal gives her some kind of invincible armor when some obvious backwoods neanderthals drop in to join them.
She walks around half dressed and wags her butt at them at every opportunity. She's as lacking in mental prowess as they are .
Certainly no one deserves what they did to her but if she had any smarts at all she would have been on guard the moment these guys showed up. They were obvious losers. And she should've considered the remote location she was going to in the first place.
If you're going to use your sex appeal as a power play..then for gods sake..learn some fighting skills so you can handle yourself and don't encourage obvious predators. That's the lesson of this movie
