Meh. Could've & should've been better.

The writing wasn't all that (only ONE writer on a movie this important??), the colors were largely blown-out which detracted from what should've been an incredibly vibrant movie to look at and there wasn't nearly enough 'Nintendo' music. 90% of the movie is filled with generic 'movie soundtrack' music with only sporadic and short-lived nods to actual gameplay music. WHY??? The end credits had the best music in the entire movie because it (finally) stuck to Nintendo music!

I was really looking forward to this one but it disappointed. Glad I didn't pay for it! 6/10 and that's being nice.

$30 for a digital rental? Never in a million years.

It's a moot point because I was never going to pay $30 to watch it (or any other movie for that matter) anyway. So they lost nothing.

Yea. Nailed it. 7.2/10 on IMDb is hardly a new timeless classic. You're easily appeased and that's okay!

I found it pretty disappointing. Whoever cut the trailers did an incredible job. That's the movie I wanted to see. This ended up being a pretty typical by the numbers animated feature for kids possessing surprisingly little of what made the games so addictive. I also thought the facial expressions looked kind of plastic and creepy. On the princess especially. Right from the getgo I wasn't hot on the premise of the real world plumbers being sucked into a fantasy realm. Mario never really felt like Mario. I know they've done this idea before but I didn't enjoy watching a clueless human bumbling around and sucking at everything. Mario is a bad ass. His main attribute is jumping and they couldn't even get that right.
