Am I the only one who liked Genisys?

It was decent. The Asian Terminator was cool, too.

I thought the first half was great. Seeing the time machine for first time in the series was neat and they recreated the scenes from the original very well. That couldn't have been easy. Was also cool seeing a T-1000 again. But once they time jump to 2017, the film really goes downhill. Aside from some decent action here and there, the scenes after they skip ahead are mostly boring and forgettable. And I hate how they made John Connor a villain, especially since Jason Clarke had potential to be the best adult version of the character. So basically I love the first half of the movie, but the second half was mostly mediocre in my opinion.

I liked it. Could've picked a better Kyle Reese.

when saw it at cinema had avoided spoilers and any reviews (so no knew they were mostly bad) just knew that John Conner went bad and some of it was set in 1984 (revisiting iconic scenes like in BTTF2) and 2029 and present day..also there were rumours that therd be some revisiting of T2s scenes somehow (as with T1 scenes)... so seeing it first time was pretty excited watching it for first hour or so with all the 2029/1984 stuff.. it was especially fun seeing Cameron's discarded T2 end of the war/timechamber opening at last after the last 2 movies ignored that (although the future war didn't look much like the epic blue night of T2, but then this was set at the timechamber location so ok could look different)..and also as had never seen T1 on big screen was fun seeing some of those scenes recreated..(can still remember how awesome 'the arrival' scene was almost exactly the same..until he encounters the cosplay punks.. was it that hard to make them look the same? lol the Arnold v Arnold fight was pretty epic tho and even the T1000 stuff was like 'wow'). second half of them sort of redoing T2 in 2017 (when they talked about going to 1997 i figured that would be the redoing T2 scenes like T1) it started to go downhill and then the CG chopper chase and end battle at skynet central with the Dr Who dude as a holographic child or something was all very Meh. (remember also it was kind of hard keeping track with all the time travel/alternate realities stuff and trying to figure out how the previous films all tied in and what it meant for T1 and T2s events... did they still exist in another reality? or were they wiped? oh that's great just wipe out the 2 iconic terminator movies for this! lol)

Courtney was woefully miscast as a wise crackin meathead Reese (nothing like Biehns Reese physically or his traumatized personality). the John Conner dude was ok but him and John Conners scenes in 2029 were abit 'off' like 2 well fed dudes from the present chatting... GoT girl was ok she bore a slight resemblance to young 1984 Linda Hamilton (if she had straight hair) but was abit annoying. . Arnie was basically playing goofy T2/T3 terminator up to 11.. (he better could up with something different in T6 lol)

that being said I think I still prefer it to T3 and TS simply because the 2029 and 1984 bits were quite fun to see lol
