John Lithgow or Russel Crowe

Just before Bombshell hit the cinemas, there was a TV miniseries called 'The Loudest Voice' about the same saga. It stared Russel Crowe as Roger Ailes. I haven't seen it, but I have heard that Crowe's portrayal of Ailes was superb. Now having just seen Bombshell, I'm wondering whether the hulking John Lithgow and his usual slightly camp style was right for Ailes. Or was he more like Roger Ailes than Crowe ? I'm just curious to know what others think.
