A case of too much action, not enough story

I thought this movie would have done better with less action and more story. The action scenes were stylish and intense. But there was just too much of it, in a rapid succession. They needed more scenes with dialogue and plot development.

Contrary.

The first movie worked exceptionally well because the story was so thin and simple. A retired assasin had his dog killed. Wreak havoc. End. Much action, less nonsense. This was an action movie first and foremost.

The sequels, however, landed into ridiculously random "story" no one actually understands well.

It reminds me of the stories in videogames like Street Fighter or Tekken. They works when they're as simple as a tournament held for the strongest warriors all over the world. Lots of fighting. End.

But then they became bloated and includes mystical figures, aliens, robots, clones, super ninjas, laser eyes, ancient deities, etc. and this is basically how it turns out in these John Wick movies.

The movie is fine the way it is, you don't seem to understand action films at all. They have never been about the story or characters LOL..... these films are for fans of old school action flicks, not pretentious millennials who want the meaning of life served to them in every film nowadays. These films are meant to be fun and not to be taken that seriously.

Ugh.

Obviously this excellent series isn’t made for certain viewers/nitpickers, especially those that probably haven’t seen all three films and took issue with the latest installment being short on story (it had more than the first two but that’s beside the point).
