Is this Cloverfield?

Monsters looked like it. I wonder if the project started as a cloverfield movie.

That actually....it makes sense. Lol

The monster in Cloverfield came from the water too, and yes they were similar.

Good spot.

*Spoiler for Cloverfield in case you haven't watched it yet*

Actually the monster from Cloverfield came from outer space and just fell into the water from which it emerged (there's a scene at the end of Cloverfield you might have missed - on the Ferris Wheel).

reply

Ah, you are probably correct. It's been a while since I've seen it.

Though, it could have still tied in. Maybe that monster came much earlier than the Cloverfield one and has been lying dormant in the ocean.

I don't think that is the case, but it could have worked.

MarcTale, the thing that splashes into the ocean is a satellite, not the monster. The director of the movie said as much himself.

A beast living this deep underwater wouldn't be able to survive on land IMO. It looked closer to the Kraken from Clash of the Titans.

I take it you didn't see Cloverfield paradox and that monsters are from a parallel dimension?
