While the escape attempt was going on, I figured there would have to be a forced extraction after watching them gun down half a dozen or more guards. I mean, that was a serious jail break attempt!

I guess the answer is that gunning down some guards was just a peccadillo compared to be born under the wrong zodiac...

Pure speculation would be that the "miracle" of the star reappearing caused them to completely re-evaluate their whole belief system and realize they were holding the Orville crew and their own citizens immorally.

But yeah, just a weird situation.

Somehow these early episodes are a bit of a downer. The second episode of STD was meh as well.
I'm hoping this shit picks up.

Usually the stories are some ill conceived broken metaphor but I can't suss this one out.
